Pucker up dumplin'

Relax in southern comfort on the east bank of the Mississippi. You're just around the corner from Beale Street and Sun Records. Watch the ducks, throw back a few and tell us what's on your mind.

@AnalogJoe Gotta wonder if Allen had a bit of dementia at the end.

I'm very lucky to have a wonderful supportive wife and two step-daughters.
I don't know, he appears to be absolutely terrified that his wife is going to divorce him and kick him to the curb. His way of writing at Quora is ok and congruent, and he doesn't appear to be a person suffering from dementia, at least not to me. Also, his other Quora questions are at least a year older than the one I posted here, so it appears that it is or was something that kept him up at night. He did mention that his marriage took place at an older age (he could have been around 66 or 67 years old), so perhaps he didn't think it through as much as he should have.

Either way, it is a very sad story.

I don't think he is still alive. Also, he didn't mention any kids. He mentioned his sister, but no kids.

More info on the Allen Hollister drama.

At the beginning of his book on wideband amplifiers he mentions a filmmaker son and a recently deceased wife. Apparently the wife referred to at Quora was his second marriage, which took place not long after his first wife passed away. I find it odd that in his Quora post he didn't mention his son, who would be the go-to person to take care of him in case he got divorced.

Perhaps you are right, Wayne, and he was a bit out there in his final years.

I did some digging using Yandex and the AI summary returned a Granada Hills address and phone number for Allen's photography that turned out to be a salon and spa doing makeovers. I think his photography work at that time was from salon customers.

I went back using the same query and it did not return the address.

From what I can tell his book is a classic.

It is kind of scary what a couple of average Joe's can find out about a person on the internet in very little time. Just imagine what someone with the proper tools and clearance can do...

Thanks for letting me know, still, I mostly don't have to deal with Windows anymore, thank God! I only use it for a couple of programs that I require for work, the rest of the time I am on Linux, and it works perfectly!
