DIYAudio seems to have the disease spread by a few individuals who just want to argue and get into a pissing match to see who can be the biggest dick.
I almost never posted there because good deeds would often get punished.
I left following in the footsteps of PRR and many others.
Very similar to GroupDIY...

Re: Now I've Left DIYAudio
I haven't experienced anything like that at DIYAudio, can you provide more detail?
So, PRR left DIYAudio as well?

That Jaddie guy is on GS. I once got into it with him over phono preamps. I was saying how a balanced front end is the way to go. I wrote what the lowest noise floor I was getting with unbalanced preamps. He said I should be able to do much better and I didn't know what I was doing. Then I told him what I was getting with a balanced front end. He told me the number was too good to be true. I said I'll take it!
He's also one of these weird ABX absolutists. Unless you do an ABX test you can't know what you are hearing. Of course he doesn't actually mean a real test. Like all those idiots, they throw ABX around and act like they know what it is. They don't know what it is, or how to to actually properly perform an ABX test. They think you get a yes or no answer when what you get is a statistical distribution.

Re: Now I've Left DIYAudio
Thanks for the info Paul.
Good to know about jaddie's behavior over at GS.
I thought maybe I was just being temporarily BS-intolerant because I had a 39,600 gallon water leak with a $448 bill last month.
Today we found and capped off the leak out in the yard on a line running to a hydrant. Tree root. We will finish the repair in the spring.
It's usually 7,500 gallons per month in the winter with a total bill of $120-130 including sewer, waste disposal and storm water fee.
But, in retrospect, I think I did the best thing by throwing the DIYAudio and GroupDIY forum babies out with the bath water.
One can waste a lot of time arguing with argumentative dicks.
Better to just avoid such places.

Sounds like your typical keyboard warrior with lots of time on his hands and a huge ego.
There is always one or two of those everywhere...

Exactly. I no longer have time for that.AnalogJoe wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2025 11:30 pmJust read the post.mediatechnology wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2025 12:42 pm https://www.diyaudio.com/community/thre ... al.422636/

But I've found that there's enough like him that post in threads I participated in that it's no longer worth it.
As JR once said about the Brewery when he first joined GDIY:

Man, get into it with the hi-fi people. Bonkers. I was attacked for being an audio professional. It was all my fault!

Re: Now I've Left DIYAudio
I just looked at his posts https://www.diyaudio.com/community/sear ... die&o=date
Almost every single post he does essentially consists of a page-long sarcastic rant telling someone else how stupid he/she is for even being alive.
The "was" in your sentence, Gold, may suggest the source of his attitude. When megalomaniacs get old and retire, they get cranky, they have too much time on their hands and there is no longer a crowd available for them to show off how "awesome" they are.
