Heres two averaged noise measurements from the SSL2 , same settings
first with the driver misbehaving , second with the driver working properly .

The other thing is with the driver misbehaving , the frequency response shows bumps within the audio band .
As you can see it makes a huge difference to the wideband measured noise results

I found that the RTL latency software displays this same bump in the noise when the sample rate is changed , so that basically says the problem is not due to REW at all , its something to do with either the driver or Windows or both .
