Texar Prism clone prototype Finished Version
Re: Texar Prism clone prototype Finished Version
Hello everyone! I'm still here lurking about the forum. I decided to pull down my website since the interest died off and it no longer made sense to pay the monthly fee but Im keeping the domain name to maybe use later if I have any other ideas to offer. I still have plenty of boards left but the parts inventories are still long so to build a complete unit has been impossible. I may have time this winter to post the project on my other site and make it open source so it can live on. My "hobby" site is in my signature.

What components are difficult to source now?
Is it still CPUs?

Yeah the PICs are still at zero inventory but I did buy enough of them to build what I have left and some other parts that I knew would be difficult. I re-ran the BOM manager again and it looks like parts that weren't in stock a month or so ago are now available with only a hand full that I can probably alternate source. That CUT35-5FF is a tough one to get. So its possible this can get a second life.

Re: Texar Prism clone prototype Finished Version
Mouser have a few CUT35 switchers coming in December.
The good news is, if your us, is that many semiconductor orders are being cancelled.
Mouser, out of the blue, found several thousand OPA2134s that weren't expected for about a year.

Re: Texar Prism clone prototype Finished Version
I just got a notice from Mouser that the TDK 967-CUT355FF/B that I had on order just shipped.
They currently have 9.
I would suggest to anyone looking for CUT-35 inventory to check the "/A" and "/B" versions.
The /A version has a perforated cover with JST connectors.
The /B a baseblate version.
The plain vanilla version is a bare board.
All three are otherwise identical.

I've put the TDK CUT35-5FF +/-15V bipolar supply in the KA-Electronics.com store:

I have largely given up on my hosting provider and updated my personal projects site instead since I have yet to have a problem with Neocities. The clone will live on there now along with other things Im messing with. Go to my signature for the link.

Thanks for the update.
I have had your site bookmarked but stumbled upon the one op amp absolute value circuit today.
Not only is it an interesting circuit but I also found the 1969 Electronics issue a fascinating look back in time.
There's a couple of other interesting Design Ideas in that issue.
