I’ve noticed lately that Mouser is picked over. I couldn’t get some non exotic aluminum electrolytic caps in the form factor I needed in any brand. Digikey has much better stock these days. Shhh….mediatechnology wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 12:05 pm Are there any issues sourcing the MLCC caps?
I have an open cart at Mouser right now for another project and haven't checked them.

Re: Texar Prism clone prototype Finished Version
I've been seeing Mouser come up short on aluminum electrolytics and 1% resistors.
In both product areas I've been able to get them at DigiKey.
Mouser has some Nichicon caps I stock on back-order until November 2022.

I was trying to get 470uf 50v in a 10mm diameter. I usually use Nichicon HE but all I could find are Epcos at Digikey.
Re: Texar Prism clone prototype Finished Version
Finally got back around to working on this project.
I have wired everything with the final wiring harnesses.
I just need to make a lid (was kind of surprised the BUD didn't come with a lid), and do the cuts on the back for the XLR connectors and Power Connection.
The "do nothing" window on the processor is much nicer on the clone, allows for you to reduce some of the pumping. Only thing I noticed is the the expand LED remains on even when no expand action is occurring. The original would pause, but not as long as the clone - and I really like this apparent change (but I could be imagining it as well - I have not spend any extended time with it).
I always hate picking a song for these "demos"...I just went with something that was popular for the time period that these were most common.
So here it is connected to a unmodified "stock" (but refurbished) Optimod 8100. I have a RCF-1 that I will install for another demo as well. Optimod is set with Texar recommended settings for the stock Optimod Card 5.

Thanks for the demo!
Bud sell bottom panels for that box.

Re: Texar Prism clone prototype Finished Version
Finished my second unit this morning. Modified the Front Panel a little more on this one. When I did my first I needed to change everything from "printed" to "engraved" because the printer was out of service @ FPE, so I was deep into rework of the panel "artwork" already. On this one I moved the LED banks so they are vertically centered on the panel (razor thin margin on the BUD Case behind it). Also moved the control knob "cluster" to the right a little bit. Finally, added some color to the Low/Mid/etc text on the bands - I matched the colors that were used on the test points of the original Texar/Gentner.

Sorry forgot to make the connection, Jeff is our OP "flyboy71."
I was just thinking about Jeff and this project yesterday or the day before.
I need to build my boards.
I'm way behind on soldering these days and getting caught up building inventory.
