Re: Texar Prism clone prototype Finished Version
I received my boards and am looking forward to getting started building them!
The quality of the boards and documentation is excellent.
The SMT parts are pre-soldered.
There are 2 BP1 boards:
Ortelligent BP1 Board
A single MB1 I/O board is required:
Ortelligent MB1 Board
4 DS1 boards are required which are supplied on 2 panels. This is one panel containing 4 display drivers.
Jeff supplied an LED alignment jig which will make building the DS1 super-easy.
Ortelligent DS1 Board
I also received a box of pre-programmed processors.
There are 9 total.

Re: Texar Prism clone prototype Finished Version
I got mine a few weeks ago. Finalized the BOM’s with suppliers yesterday (been a busy few weeks).
Everything should be here next week - very excited over here!
The documents are nicely written and the boards are very well thought out.
Did I mention that I am excited!

Congratulations!
I need to get crackin' on mine - I have a backlog of boards to build.
Have you run audio through it yet?

Ortelligent Clone with a Gentner Prism II.
Audio in the video is from the Gentner - didn't think to switch it before I recorded (maybe next time).
I had to re-work the front panel file that was supplied - as the printer at FPE was down for repairs. I had to regenerate all of the "drawings" to be engravings, and redo all of the text. Unfortunately both the fonts for the logo and the original text were not compatible. So the logo didn't make it on the panel (sorry flyboy71) for this one.

Re: Texar Prism clone prototype Finished Version
So I have made a one time buy on the parts needed for the remaining board sets. I have 4 sets left with 2 in reserve for potential buyers. I was surprised at the hoops needed to jump through get the parts but I want to be able to deliver what I have left. I will order more bare boards when the parts issue improves and I deplete what I have now.

Re: Texar Prism clone prototype Finished Version
Are there any issues sourcing the MLCC caps?
I have an open cart at Mouser right now for another project and haven't checked them.

Re: Texar Prism clone prototype Finished Version
I had trouble sourcing the SMD caps I use on the display boards. There was only one recommended replacement to choose from. I'm not sure about any thru hole parts. That's another reason I stopped short of supplying assembled boards until this clears up a bit. The other part I see dwindling fast are the micros used on the main board so I did a bulk order on those. I have been using three vendors to get anything anymore.

Re: Texar Prism clone prototype Finished Version
Whew! Im glad I ordered when I did. On Monday there were 1400 in stock. I ordered 20 to have plenty and now look at it. I have watched this go from 9000 to 7000 to 3000 from the first time I offered my project. I think since the SMD version has been unobtainable since beginning of the year this has been redesigned into products. Digikey had some stock but its gone now also. Lead time on Mouser is out till 2023.
