Today I picked up a Samson Co3 multipattern USB condenser mic , complete with metal case, all accessories and Cakewalk sonar LE software , looks like its barely even used ,
Also found a Rode metal pop screen and a Philips Sbcmd-650 dynamic mic .
its not really stuff id use ,but I can always pass it onto a friend or maybe sell on .

I had a chance to play around with the Samson C03 , it dates all the way back to 2005 ,
Cakewalk Sonar does install in WIN10 , but I had no luck getting the mic to work with it ,
The mic is recognised by windows without any need for a driver and I was able to get the it to work with Reaper , but no Asio drivers so latencies are probably 50-100mS ,
Build quality isnt bad , everything is sturdy diecast metal , two pcbs inside , one for audio ,one for usb
Apparently it contains dual capsules , but I didnt dismantle the headshell yet to see whats in there .

There seems to be no end to the good stuff people throw away nowadays ,
today I found an Akai MPK mini midi controller , near perfect condition ,
plug and play compatibillity with Win 10 .
Also found an Antex XS soldering iron , same kind I had in my teen years , still handy to have as part of the 'call out' tool kit .

You have the best luck.
I go "dumpster diving" during our monthly bulk trash and brush pickup week. I often fine nice 1x12" wood shelving thrown away and other useable lumber.
One of my best scores was a nice seat bench.
I also found a chest of drawers that I keep cables and bulk wire in.

Im renovating at the moment ,the house is over 200 years old ,
The builders suppliers is only 100 yards away , so getting my materials doesnt require transport , not only that , but they also have piles of surplus timber from packing crates stock arrives in on , its rough sawn but perfectly usable for constructional purposes , so saves loads of cash .
In the future I'll be using this surplus timber to burn in my stove instead of paying top dollar for so called smokeless coal , which it turns out is 20-25% non combustible materials ,in other words sand and grit , which you have to pay to dispose of in the end .
The ash left over from untreated timber used in pallets and packing crates amounts to only a few % by weight , its also environmentally safe to give back to the ground .

I found a set of Sennheiser DT-100's in the recycle today ,
Im missing the rail end stop on one side and a couple of other small related parts
the whole thing needed a cleaning ,
but its in otherwise very good condition so well worth repairing ,

There seems to be no end to the useful stuff I'm able to get from my local recycle yard ,
Today two iphone 13's , one with a cracked screen the other with cracked rear glass panel , both functioning
The one with the good screen , unlocked , factory reset , the other locked to the owners Apple account .
I brought them into a local phone repair shop where the guy offered me 100 cash for both , telling me the locked phone was impossible to crack ,
I first allowed iTunes update the locked phone to the latest iOS 18 , then I tried a third party software to flash and reset password , that didnt seem to work and I got a message from Apple to say the phone is locked and the owner has been notified of the phones whereabouts , obviously the phone wasnt stolen and the owner doesnt want it back , so perhaps Apple gives them an option to release it from their user account , Im not really sure
These things sell for around 300-350 euros second hand , so well worth repairing , the back glass panel is easy enough to do myself and the part doesnt cost more than 10 euros . the one with the cracked screen costs around 100 to have repaired professionally , if I can unlock it .
