Midlife and Sunscreen

Relax in southern comfort on the east bank of the Mississippi. You're just around the corner from Beale Street and Sun Records. Watch the ducks, throw back a few and tell us what's on your mind.

I actually don’t have enough common sense to wear a hat in the summer. I burn my bald head and the back of my neck every summer. Still I’m not worried about getting cancer and I doubt I’ll start wearing a hat. 15 years of baldness and getting sun burnt at least once a year and no cancer yet.

Interesting article on Vitamin D and auto-immune disease by Dr. Mercola that also discusses sunburn and seed oils.

https://expose-news.com/2024/12/12/vita ... -diseases/

I do take Vitamin D3 for Myasthenia gravis but only 10,000 IU/day.

An article here in PubMed that I've been aware of since contracting MG states that the Brazilian woman who went into remission was taking 80,000 to 120,000 IU/day. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4734680/

I've decided to up my D3 dosage and found some at the Health Ranger Store that is 2000 IU/drop. The gel caps I'm taking are 5000 IU/cap. https://www.healthrangerstore.com/colle ... mcg-2000iu

I wear a cowboy hat and sunglasses, be it during the summer, spring, winter, etc... It is very comfortable, covers you really well, and makes you look like a bigger badass than you really are.

I've seen some studies which claim that Sunscreen does not impede the development of Vitamin D in a significant way. Of course, we are talking about "The Science" here.

Looking real quick, 10k deaths per year in US from melanoma??
They're expecting that to increase.... makes sense. They don't make things like they used to...
my wife got wrapped up with some psycho dermatologist...$20k later she finally quit letting them snip or whatever they did to every freckle they could find....sometimes I think we'd be safer without health insurance....

Some (if not most) MDs are some of the worst people out there. They have zero scruples and they are willing to do whatever it takes to squeeze that extra dollar out of you.
A couple of years ago I had a very bad case of indigestion. I went to several gastroenterologists. They all wanted me to spend a fortune on tons of tests. One of them even told me that they had to test me for some weird virus, and, it turns out, that the only person who was performing that particular medical test was the doctor's son, yeah..... I was desperate, until I told my usual internist what was going on and he told me to get rid of some medication I was taking and not to take any test. Problem solved.

Thanks.

One did say that he needed biopsies of my stomach, my colon and my esophagus.
