I've used Firefox until around V58 or 59 before it became an out-of-control memory hog and unusable.
Then I used Iron. Iron is OK and fast. Iron renders some sites in Mobile format.
Opera is OK too.
Recently I tried Vivaldi and it is as fast as the other Chrome variants but uses less memory compared to Iron and Opera.
On a simple webpage Vivaldi consumed about 128 MB of memory. The same page, under Firefox was well over 500 MB.
Both used essentially the same plugins: Roboform and Ublock Origin.
I'm running Vivaldi on Win 7 and Ubuntu 16.04 and it is my default browser on both. Try Vivaldi https://vivaldi.com/
