Christmas miracle or 5G rollout?

Relax in southern comfort on the east bank of the Mississippi. You're just around the corner from Beale Street and Sun Records. Watch the ducks, throw back a few and tell us what's on your mind.

It's 1.88 miles from your dead tree to the tower.
the one with a come along hanging off it? After new years I an getting serious about taking my chain saw to it.
Yeah that one, next to the convenience store facing '80.
stop and puke...
I think I would really like Hickory...
I am used to Hickory and it is used to me... Last time I looked for somewhere else to live, every single place i looked into was way more expensive than here.

Now that I have decent cell service, there is one less reason to relocate.
Are those groves around you fruit or nuts?
Pecans?
I don't know of any local groves, the popular trees to farm around here are pine for pulp wood... so lots of pine trees around planted in rows of straight lines.
This is a great map viewer:

I was thinking my cell tower was over by the exit... it looks like it is well east of that exit so a much closer straight shot to my house as the crow flies... that also means my outdoor antenna (Yagi) may be pointed slightly west, but not much.

US 80 passed (passes?) just north of me in Oak Cliff.
I-20 is a couple of miles to the South.

I have some extra history about "old Highway 80" as it's known around here. After 9/11 some employees of United airlines organized a flag carrying event by runners to trace the intended route of one of the downed planes. By this time I was available and my knee still worked, so I volunteered to carry old glory for several miles from Hickory to the next town over (Newton).

The relay run was over-subscribed so I ran with one or two other runners, I let them take turns carrying the flag, but I was the alpha dog for my leg.

This is a little (almost) forgotten piece of Old Hwy 80 history... 80 runs parallel to I-20 but is much safer to run.
