Re: Mid Side M-S Matrix Construction Information
What is the orientation of the jumpers on the board? To disable the insert point is the jumper installed from one silkscreened box to the box below?

Re: Mid Side M-S Matrix Uses No Precision Resistors - Boards 5/1
I just ordered some boards. Get 'em while they're hot gentlemen.

Re: Mid Side M-S Matrix Uses No Precision Resistors
Does this make sense? Yes. I don't think it is too much to ask of a user to lower the input if it's really hot. +27dBu is plenty of headroom or +19 for a fully correlated input. I think that is what you mean. Since improving this would just make the whole thing more complicated I don't think it's w...

Looks good Wayne. One good thing about having many projects going at once is when things become available it's always a good time!

Re: A Discussion About True Power Summing for Stereo Compressors
Do you use software comps too? (like this thread needs another direction...). Not usually. Occasionally I'll use the built in one in Samplitude if it's an emergency. The other day I had to piece together something that had bands playing live in a radio studio along with interviews. for the music st...

Re: A Discussion About True Power Summing for Stereo Compressors
As far as uber-controls on a compressor, rock/pop engineers fall into two basic categories - there are the tracking and mixing engineers who generally want as few controls as possible. Mastering engineers are different. They want as few pieces as possible, and will gladly accept control over as man...

Re: Any opinions on this console?
I'm surprised there's not been anyone reporting a personal experience with ANY vendor for this sort of work. There is a guy in my building who does a lot of custom one off metalwork for artists. He does beautiful work. One sculpture he fabricated was a column of 2' high chinese food containers with...

Re: For Those Needing Test Equipment - My eBay Picks
Another difference between the 400E and the 400F is that the E has a 600 ohm input impedance and the F has a 1? megaohm input impedance. It makes it less useful for in circuit measurements but good sitting at the output of the DUT. I would like to pick up an FL but before I finally sprung for a cali...

Re: For Those Needing Test Equipment - My eBay Picks
I've been getting my test bench together too. No computers for me either. I'm not familiar with the Heathkit stuff. I love the analog AC voltmeters. I have an HP 400E and a 400EL. I bought the 400EL calibrated and I love it. The scale is in .1dB and the ballistics are smooth. The 400EL has an output...

Re: Mid Side M-S Matrix Uses No Precision Resistors
Looks good Wayne. There was something about that extra opamp on only one side that didn't sit right with me. I had no solid technical basis to object so I kept my mouth shut. I'm glad to see it go. I like this better.
