Re: PM bug? Nah, clumsy user!
typed /K instead /L /K for kill? That's brutal. Roger - Does your keyboard have a Windows function key? That may be it to since IIRC it's by the spacebar. I use old geniune IBM keyboards that have the "Selectric" style tactile sensation. They don't have Windows Keys so I don't know what t...

Re: PM bug?
Hmm... Sometimes in IE7 I hit a series of control or ALT keys which hits the back page button in IE or some other obscure function. It's very frustrating and I've lost a number of good posts that way by going back to the page where there's an empty edit box. It may be ALT-Backspace. I know that when...

Re: Glass Passivated rectifiers
Thanks for checking these. They're a little hard to find being that some distributors stock glass passivated rectifiers but mistakenly think that the "GP" suffix means general purpose. Digi-Key does that. So you don't really know what you're getting. The Vishay from Allied are the real dea...

Re: Another reason not to buy used appliances from Crusty...
That was the night I ended up driving up the 405 to make an early morning flight out of LA using braile (listening for the reflectors on the road surface to know when I'm out of my lane). JR Reminds me of a story of John Alderson of Studio Supply (Nashville) told me once. He and Stevie Wonder were ...

I think for a $12 lap dance I'd be willing to buy some Mexican "capacitros."

Re: Another reason not to buy used appliances from Crusty...
Believe it or not i don't keep service documentation for every product i ever designed... and I surely don't remember the details. ...best $12 I ever spent. Well there was one lap dance that was close, but the blade has more lasting value. JR Damn, John I was going to ask you about R37 in the TS-1....

Re: What are you paying for power?
Texas used to have some of the cheapest power rates in the country. We're on our own grid with very limited ties outside the state. Prior to deregulation it got pretty bad. Now that producers are tying resale rates to natural gas prices rates can actually fluctuate downward. Before as nat gas rose s...

LM170 LM370 AGC Squelch Datasheet
OK, here's another classic datasheet for a product that's pretty useless for professional audio. But, it's very hard to find and somebody, somewhere may need one. Checkout the date: 1968.

Well they are sintered just like the capstan bearings in Otari MX-5050s which used silicone oil. (And were impregnated too.)
But they did gum up before I ever oiled them. So what's the option? Replace the motor?

Speaking of appliances....
Why do the blower/motor bearings for dryers keep getting gummed up? It's becoming a yearly tradition to pull the motor out clean and oil the bearings. I've started double rinsing clothes but still use dryer sheets.
