They will run off +/-9V but do have a heavy 70-90 mA current requirement. I hope you weren't thinking about batteries. The efficiency is around 2%.
Dunno about boards. We did the protos and may want to change the heatsink orientation and add connectors.

Re: Sizzle!
Yeah we've been having "unofficial" highs around 105-108. After those kinds of days 95-100 degrees feels "cool."
I've never actually been to hell, but some days I can look outside my window and see it.
Road trip to where?

I saw that too and some of the steaks at the grocery store do look better than they used to.
Eatzi's price today on Prime NY Strips was $29.95/lb.

Re: Best cities for dining?
I went straight to the Jucy Lucy's site. Very nice. This caught my eye: Elk in Fillo on Bordelaise Sauce with spinach, pinenuts, mushrooms and goat cheese. They don't have that at Safeway :) Add this one to your Dallas lists: http://www.eatzis.com/ I've been buying (raw) Prime-graded beef at Eatzis ...

Re: Using the THAT1646 As A Transistor Pre-Driver/Headphone Amp
I would like to put some voltage and current gain behind the 1646 and see how well it drives a speaker. I was in the shop last night moving stuff around and decided to give the headphone amp a listen after a few months away from it. Maybe its the headphones themselves but after about an hour of list...

Re: Using the THAT1646 As A Transistor Pre-Driver/Headphone Amp
Yeah John you're right. 8V/us ought to be fast enough. At 4V/us it was still fast enough but would've required some "explaning" to the audiophools. As a headphone amp some people seem to think they need 50 V/us to swing 1-4 V p-p. It's like having a car that can do 150 miles per hour that ...

Re: Using the THAT1646 As A Transistor Pre-Driver/Headphone Amp
Sam Groener's improved 2520 is only 10 V/us: http://www.sg-acoustics.ch/analogue_audio/discrete_opamps/index.html In some of my earlier tests I had measured the SR of the 1646 using common mode drive around 4V/us with the BD139/BD140 followers. After we got boards I re-checked it and it is indeed ar...

I think it would make a good class-A transformer driver. The gain is ever so slightlyless than unity. Any required gain would need to be ahead of the 1646. The SR is only 8 V/uS or so. A 150:600 transformer would likely be the best option.

Wow! This is stunning work! Love the lit meter pic, engraving knobs etc. Simply awesome.
BTW Thanks for sending me one of those meter boards. It will likely go into my Pico SE.

Re: Mid Side M-S Matrix Construction Information
Hi Milos - I wouldn't have those values off-hand but I might suggest something in the range of 22-47 pF. I tuned the 5532 using sqarewave response for minimal overshoot. On the board I would use the insert point just ahead of the 5532, point "G," to inject the signal. I would also suggest ...
