Re: Are Youtube taking the piss ?
You used to be able to snag audio or video off the tube using VLC but not right now until they develop a new codec for the latest version they are using. Those downloads were ad free. They probably dump ads on music now to avoid being the 20s version of Napster. In Win 11 you can use the snipping t...

Re: If are still not using Linux, now it is a good time to start
Susan Bradley in "AskWoody" now writes: Recommendations for consumers Linux — specifically Mint There have been predictions that this will be the year of Linux on the desktop — every year for the past 20. I’m not holding my breath. But I do consider moving to Mint achievable, albeit with s...

dbx 200, 202, 202C, 2001 Internal Schematics, 2002, 202X Module Schematics
I just obtained copies of dbx internal schematics for the legacy 200, 202, 202C and 2001 VCAs. This pdf also contains schematics for the module replacements models 2002T, 202XT and datasheets for the earlier canned modules. Re: If are still not using Linux, now it is a good time to start
Recently Mozilla removed its promise not to sell your data, so in terms of privacy Firefox isn’t the best option anymore. According to https://privacytests.org/ even Chrome is better. Anyone still using Firefox might want to start using different browser. Thanks for that link. I mostly use Brave, O...

Re: Bootstrapped Op Amp Articles
No problem! The dbx one is surely reliable as I use 900 series units daily and rarely have any issues interfacing them with other equipment or running their outputs through long~ish lines. I think if I were to rework any of these circuits, I’d use the scheme you’ve drawn out. Thanks for that. You'r...

Re: If are still not using Linux, now it is a good time to start
A lot of Linux distributions don’t like conservative people and have even kicked out centrist or conservative developers. OpenMandriva and Devuan seem to be the only non political distributions. Anyone thinking about starting to use linux might want to use and support OpenMandriva or Devuan. Althou...

Re: When AI Gets it Wrong
I wonder how many people have ended up with a bag of marshmallows instead of scallops , not exactly a life/death situation ,but still reveals the stupidity of the AI the whole show runs on . A quick search revealed this , with some rather more serious consequences , its time proper laws were brough...

Re: Bootstrapped Op Amp Articles
Attached some basic examples of how Pacific Recorders, Auditronics and dbx bootstrapped their opamps for outputs through the 70s into the 90s. Thanks for posting these examples and joining us here! It looks like all but the dBx are current-boosted outputs using +/- 15 to 18V supplies. The dbx has v...
