Re: Phono Transfer System Construction Information
Paul - R4 and R5 serve a couple of purposes. I build the boards with them at 100Ω. In high RF environments R4 and R5, along with along with C3+J3, form a differential LP filter around 8 MHz but C3+J3 are mostly for added termination C. What I found however is that with R4 and R5 in circuit and J3 op...

Re: Dual Class-A Line and Headphone Output Board Documents
It did but I decided to change the weightings of side that were presented to the sleeve versus the tip and ring to further maximize headroom.
The thread is here - there's a lot I've forgotten: viewtopic.php?p=5607

Re: The Studer "90°" Dome Filter Stereo to Mono Quadrature Summer
By the way, what got you hooked on them? I saw the thread you provided to "Gearspace", but I guess I was too lazy to read everything and make the connections to this thread. emrr originally sent me the link to GroupDIY IIRC and we had a post here once about equal weighting of sum and diff...

Re: Dual Class-A Line and Headphone Output Board Documents
Crosstalk at 1 kHz with a 20 ohm load is not fantastic. I measured about 59 dB. Something about the current flow through a Left/Right channel headphone jack that has a common ground. It's close to 90 dB with no load, so the crosstalk is not due to any design error. Using 60 dB to round out the numb...

Re: The Studer "90° Filter" Stereo to Mono Summer/Recorrelator
I tried to match the Studer component values using the equations from Weaver. studer90m.JPG Six of the eight resistors came close, but two were off by more than 10% ? Calculated phase difference from the Studer schematic studer90a.JPG Calculated phase difference from the Weaver values studer90t.JPG...

Re: Dual Class-A Line and Headphone Output Board Documents
Bob, thank you for posting this! I just looked back and you bought the assembled board from me on September 15, 2015. USPS Priority Mail was only about $6 then. You and the late Joe Neil were the first two customers in my store. My how time flies... I'll take a look at the data and figure out how ma...

Re: Banned from GDIY but still alive
Welcome!
I was wondering about that.
What an interesting story. Very similar to my 2007 exit.
Nice to see your avatar around these parts.

Re: Finally: An Affordable Turntable from Dayton Audio and Parts Express
This is a great turntable for $179. I bought two. One minor issue I had was the first unit had loose screws in the inner gimbal. One had backed out completely. The second unit also had loose inner gimbal screws. The outer ones on both were tight. I haven't got Bluetooth to pair on either. I haven't ...
