Re: The Corona Virus Hoax of 2020

I didn't say go inside a hospital. I know as well you do that they won't let you. Just stand there and watch the ER docs, the nurses of the CoViD wards walk out after a day at the office. See, if they will talk to you and tell you what their day has been like. You could also go to a hotel near a lar...

Re: The Corona Virus Hoax of 2020

Go visit a hospital, better yet, visit a hospital in Houston. There is nothing like seeing things with your own eyes.

Re: Flat Balanced Input Moving Coil Phono Preamp Construction Information

I can report on two improvements since I finished the MC preamp. I switched to tabbed jumper shunts. Those are so much easier to move around and I had simply run out. The other item is more interesting. I found a very nice 5W +/-15V switcher at mouser for $20. It's a RECOM RAC05-15DC. The 10W versio...

Re: "Deboosting" Google or Are We Banned? I'll Call Either A Win.

From the accident report in the local paper: "... 29-year-old Vista woman was seriously injured Monday morning when her pickup spun out across a rain-slick Escondido freeway ...". The pickup was a Ford Ranger, the driver Misty Epstein - RIP and condolences. I don't know where conspiracies ...

Re: Flat Balanced Input Moving Coil Phono Preamp Construction Information

I have finally "boxed" my incarnation of the Moving Coil Phono Preamp. The Mean Well power supply will probably get replaced and relegated to prototype use. It is a surprisingly good supply, but I still need to measure its performance in the box. The turntable connection uses CAT 6A cable....

Re: Flat Balanced Input Moving Coil Phono Preamp Construction Information

I drilled out 1/4-20 nuts, also because I couldn't easily get M7 acorn nuts. I was hesitant, but in the end it wasn't a problem at all, worked like a charm.

I read the description and thought to myself: "I wonder what the wiring looks like inside that thing?" Then the photo came up. Oh, yeah! Looks amazing!

Re: Flat Balanced Input Moving Coil Phono Preamp Construction Information

This is a cartridge that I thought had one dead channel after another MC phono amp experiment. I installed it for the test figuring that it's broken already so who cares if something else goes wrong. It's actually in great shape. So now I have a 20th century Ortofon Jubilee that's still in great sha...

Re: Flat Balanced Input Moving Coil Phono Preamp Construction Information

0.34mV @ 5cm/sec. I used the +52dB gain setting yesterday and applied more gain after software RIAA. It turns out that I could have easily used all +62dB gain for the record that I tested with.
