Re: That1580 mini mixer

c12,14.16 gone. Metering will be done post unbalancing right before the 5k mixing resistors. Going with attiny84 somethings on each channel card, 10 leds, will try to emulate an lm3916 with the mcu. low current leds and peak metering should not be too much of a current draw. (led color render is me...

Re: Which Audio Analyser?

The problem with using an AP SYS1 is connecting it, and running it, in a modern computing environment. Duke (Audio1Man) has addressed the connectivity issues but the last time I looked into it the OS to run Win AP had to be Win 98. I may be mistaken about that and hopefully Duke will visit this thr...

Re: Which Audio Analyser?

After looking around for a long time I’ve decided on the Analog Discovery 2 along with a Native Instruments Konnect 2 with the Pete Milett interface box. Using the Waveforms software for both. The AD2 has high bandwidth but is only 14 bit. For low noise measurements I’d switch over to the audio int...

Re: Which Audio Analyser?

The $39.95 price tag does seem quite attractive. Another option that people seem to love is REW, I dont know, I always felt like it was sub-par, may have something to do with the fact that REW was initially a tool for audio enthusiasts to measure their room response and later it was upgraded to a fu...

Re: Which Audio Analyser?

BTW I've never liked the Quantasylum. Lots of reports of bugs and it doesn't do swept sine response measurements. Sometimes you just want to generate a tone... https://quantasylum.com/collections/frontpage/products/qa401-audio-analyzer AFAIK the latest updates from QuantAsylum allow the QA401 to ma...

Re: A Second Order Elliptic Equalizer for Vinyl Mastering

Wayne, that looks like a nice EQ. AFAIK, there is no such thing as a first order elliptic filter, meaning that the polynomials in the transfer function are never below 2nd degree in order to be an elliptic filter, however I think you are refering to the final roll off which can be 6dB per octave wh...
