Inserting Symbols and Special Characters In Posts

Post by mediatechnology »

I decided it was time to stop typing "Ohms" unless we find that some browsers don't support it.

Here's a list of special html characters: http://www.tedmontgomery.com/tutorial/ALTchrc-a.html

Some special characters we use more often are:

§ Alt+21
@ Alt+64
~ Alt+126

ß Alt+225
π Alt+227
Σ Alt+228
µ Alt+230
τ Alt+231
Φ Alt+232
Ω Alt+234
∞ Alt+236
± Alt+241
≥ Alt+242
≤ Alt+243
≈ Alt+247
° Alt+248
√ Alt+251
ⁿ Alt+252
² Alt+253

If you use Linux, the "special characters" are automatically included in your fonts and are just a pair of key presses away:

µ = Alt Gr and the m key,
Ω = Alt Gr and Shift q.

Pretty much all of the commonly used symbols are available just as easily! ™ = Alt Gr Shift 8 and so on....
