Ian DuRieu had some difficulty posting this earlier dbx 163 schematic pdf and e-mailed it to me.
Speaking of dbx VCAs, I have an old dBx 163 circuit where the VCA was done in discrete components.

dBx 163 Schematic early discrete version.
This one was later than the earlier discrete version using BC-series transistors.

I recently learned that the NEC UP-series parts were NEC transistor arrays that were re-metalized for dbx.
