Relax in southern comfort on the east bank of the Mississippi. You're just around the corner from Beale Street and Sun Records. Watch the ducks, throw back a few and tell us what's on your mind.

I Am A Google Deplorable

Google would prefer that people like me didn't exist.
How do I know? They've told me so.

James Damore, Breitbart, Alex Jones, Prager University, Laura Loomer the list goes on and on and on. All of these people, except one, were money-making customers who lived on their platforms for years. Then, all of a sudden, Google figuratively killed them.

One, James Damore, was an employee. His mistake, in a nutshell, was to suggest that women and men may be different. For his insensitive views, the tolerant folks at Google (Sundar) had him terminated.

Are we supposed to trust these "Resist!" Antifa-like Google nutcases with our business, phone OS or search?

We have Google's own videos and internal communications about how much they deplore, perhaps hate, and possibly want dead, people like me. People who don't think, act like, or have "their" values. I could provide countless citations but won't - use duckduckgo and find them.

Apparently "they" are also delusional and psychotic enough to actually think, after they've destroyed countless businesses of the people "they don't like," that I would actually consider doing business with them. They call us - probably about 50% of us - the intolerant, fascist haters.

Google wants our businesses to partner with them only to destroy them (and us) later based on their intolerant whims. I'm not feeling Google love.

Imagine my amusement when I received this email and it contained a phone number.

So I called them with a simple question.

At this point the customer service reps don't have a scripted response to "Why should I do business with Google when it's obvious it wants people like me de-personed, de-platformed, de-monetized and possibly dead."

"If you don't accept the 'dead' part, then how about why should I do business with Google when you're going to contact my customers and ask them not to do business with me like you did with Breitbart?" "I mean, who would want to do business with a company that did that?"
Instead of challenging the transparently political (the internal discussion group was labeled “resist”!) effort to demonetize the web’s leading conservative website, Gray instead sought to reassure the group that action was being taken. Using the jargon-rich corporate talk beloved on Silicon Valley, Gray hinted at efforts underway at Google to make it easier to strip ad revenue from inconvenient websites.
Who wants that kind of "partner?"

I asked the CSR to forward the recording of the call to a supervisor. In closing I explained that I make it a policy to not do business with businesses that are openly hostile to me and have shown hostility to their other customers.

Google needs to figure that out: They're too brainwashed by the "University Cult" system to understand basic concepts and apparently someone needs to tell them.

I expect Google search results leading to this forum will now experience a precipitous drop or be completely scrubbed.

The call ended with the CSR yelling, desperately: "I cannot let it stand: Google does not want you dead. Google does not want you dead!"
I ended with "...I hold a different view based on evidence. Let's just agree to disagree on that."

I am not worthy. Google told me so.

My Chinese Social Score isn't going to be worth a sh*t but I might be able to get a job with Mark Dice or James O'Keefe.

Their first question is "what is your url?" I gave them yours. (Not really.)

But they have mine from the account number and I just drove a stick in the ant hill.

The scary thing about the world today is that microsoft is now the least evil of the big firms. Time to dust off 'going underground' by the Jam.

For that reason I investigated a Windows phone. Last time I looked Verizon had exactly one model.

I did find a true Linux phone in development at PureOS Librem: https://puri.sm/products/librem-5/

I've been thinking about a browser extension that would create long "noisy" lorem ipsum quoted search queries. Embedded between those queries would be the desired searches. Not only would it create a lot of extra traffic for Google it would make profiling, for the purpose of advertising, very difficult. The goal is to decrease signal to noise ratio.

"Aliquam tristique sapien varius auctor posuere"

Recently, as a test, I sent to my wife's gmail account a link saying I wanted to buy a new Toyota RAV-4. (I don't.) Within about 24 hours I started getting Toyota dealer ads. My goal was to make ad word purchases ineffective for the buyer. I then decided I wanted an Escalade (I don't.) On and on. Ultimately, after taking Google for a long ride to nowhere I downgraded my Honda vehicle search to a Honda mower.

What if a few million of us one day started using a bunch of "scary" key words at the footer of our emails (like a confidentiality notice) to return millions of false positives. Something to keep the NSA busy.

I've also started asking Google voice-to-text nonsensical questions.

When you don't want to be heard or tracked put your phone in the microwave oven. Its a damn good Faraday cage. An old cookie tin is good too. Or under my foil hat when I'm not wearing it.

Its not that I have anything to hide: I just want to piss off and annoy them. They're being quite dishonest and not playing fair.

“When the service is free you are the product”. I only use the search engine. No other products or services. Facebook creeps me out. I won’t use that either.

What makes me laugh is the fact that targeted advertising has actually gotten worse. Back around 2008 time there was the big fuss where Target discovered they could work out if a woman was pregnant AND the due date from products they bought. This creeped out a lot of loyalty card holders. Tesco in UK did similar and at one stage possibly had the best customer analytics of all (which they then p*ssed away).

This week facebook was in the news for targeting baby ads at a women who has suffered a still birth.

For me the funny part is that the ad engines are in competition so do not share data. Thus if I search for a product (say a camera), I get spammed with adverts for that camera for months EVEN if I bought that model. I don't want ads for something I own, I want ads for useful accessories like spare batteries. Until they learn to communicate (which wont happen) the whole system is a big waste of resources except maybe for those who buy everything off amazon.

If you use ebay you will notice that the algorithm is really really hopeless at offering you things you might like based on your purchase history. Mind you one ad sponsered forum I visit has been offering me the number of a breast enhancement specialist!!!!

But messing with algorithms is IMO a good thing :)

For the most part I haven't seen ads on websites for about 18 months since I installed uBlock Origin.
I can't comment on the quality of the targeting.
If the site hosts its own ads I do see them but they're not usually invasive or in-your-face.
When I install a new browser that doesn't have uBlock its startling the amount of page clutter and long load time.

I haven't used Amazon in well over a year, maybe almost two years now.
Amazon may not want me dead, just subservient.
The Amazon Washington Post though definitely wants me dead: I'm deplorable.

When my wife was working prior to retirement I bought compression hosiery for her on my Amazon account as well as parts for the generator, the chainsaw you know - manly alpha-male stuff.
I was targeted with a pretty interesting array of products.

I threw eBay overboard as a seller. If I need some obscure part I'd still buy there.

I don't use any Google products except for three:

The Android OS
Chrome-derivative browsers, e.g. Iron, Opera and Vivaldi
Google Re-captcha

Duckduckgo, Qwant and Bing all return better results. I do check page rank and cached dates on Google but they don't get my search business other than the nonsensical.

I used Facebook only once: To eulogize Joe Neil.
I deleted my LinkedIn due to security issues and non-performance of the service.

The list of large Globalist, privacy-invading hostile-to-freedom companies I've thrown overboard in the last 3-4 years is long.
The advantages to figuratively cutting off their oxygen are usually immediate in the form of more time or money for me.

As most of big tech these days is about tickling dopamine receptors the less social media you go on the better in terms of having a life. Two of my teen daughters are totally hooked.
