Re: Residential Lighting with LEDs: Retrofitting the Pink Ranch

Digging around on an old thread.... My back porch light fixture is designed for an Olde School A-19/A-60 bulb (as I recall the numbering) with an Edison base. The typical 60W or 100W incandescent. Down to one spare incandescent bulb, so I am looking for a LED brand/model designed to work in +100F do...

Nichicon "Audio" Electrolytic Caps

I typically choose Nichicon (and also Panasonic) caps for new builds as well as repairs. Each brand has a huge number of variations that are difficult to select. I typically look for 105c and long life, but there are a ton of other variants. I stumbled across this at Mouser: https://www.mouser.com/n...

Re: Bridged-T equalizer

"Shape" is filter Q.

In the more legible schemo that I first linked, C25 is 33 uF.

MEP-250 Bridged-T equalizer

The recent thread regarding "negative impedance converter" interestingly wandered into a subject I've been pondering recently, namely the ITI/Sontec/and perhaps current Massenburg EQ designs. Many years ago when I was a very young studio recordist, I recall being blown away by the original...

Re: A Modern Loftech TS-1 Audio Test Set

Hiya John. Part of my biz these days is finding/restoring analog recording desks. When "flying" through a few dozen channels is my Olde Method using a square wave to quickly test the EQ circuits on each strip. Go/No Go as it is.... Sidebar....more often than not: 1. Ancient electrolytic co...

For many years that was the first thing I read every month in Byte Magazine.

Re: "fingers" on edge connectors

I regularly encounter edge connectors on the older desks that I service/restore. SSL, MCI, Trident, and API just to name a few. I would NOT use that style connector on a new design except for the fact that the 15 pin format is standard for the highly popular 500-series "lunchbox" gizmos......

Re: "fingers" on edge connectors

The standard connector for 500 series modules and the "lunchboxes" is that infernal edge connector which API began using decades ago.

"fingers" on edge connectors

OK...lol...giving a hint on a new project here! <g> 500 cough cough. 15 contacts at 0.156" spacing. (/sidebar) WHERE DID 0.156" COME FROM???? 5/32" equals 0.15625". I would think that over many fingers the spacing would drift...(/sidebar). ANYWAY... What would be suggested for pl...

Neumann SE66

Keep in mind that the pic I linked was the original setup in Calif. Ed "broke down" the pair of linked lathes into one single lathe. So, lots of spare parts here! <g>
