Re: NE5532 NE5534 THD
It's a horrible moment when you realise you've just made several hundred defective products I once had a "client" that got all of his SSL RC5534s replaced - thousands of them - at no charge for parts or labor over two years after the console was commissioned. SSL picked up the tab for abo...

Re: LM4562, LME49710, LME49720 Start-up Behavior
I LIKE big Ib in OPAs. And the advantage we think we might get from low bias current bipolar OPAs - higher bias resistor values - we don't actually realize if we have to make the bias resistors low to have good start-up behavior. I do realize that there's the bias current noise issue that prevents ...

Re: 5532/4 THD
Thanks for sharing this ricardo. Sorry for the difficulty (now fixed) that prevented pdf files from being attached. I can speak from experience that the performance of ICs are strongly process-dependent. A close friend, who makes them, once likened it to baking a cake. The Raytheon 5532 and 5534s we...

Here's a good reference I found: https://www.phpbb.com/community/faq.php?mode=bbcode

Re: Simple PS Voltage Splitters Using Audio Amplifiers
I thought that the article was over-thought and the solutions over-complicated but decided to post it anyway. TI does have a simple rail splitter, the TLE2646, but it IMHO is a little noisy: http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tle2426.pdf I have used the LM317 and LM337 as active shunts, not for a rail...

Velleman K8090 USB and Pushbutton-controlled Relay Board
Thanks Doug. Velleman also make the K8090 8 Relay Board that has USB and pushbutton control. As I understand it the buttons can be programmed via USB to operate in banks using software-defined logic. Then the USB can be disconnected if needed. Thus, a "solo" pushbutton command for instance...
