Re: Entropy
[ I'm cool with relays - Mastering Engineers insist on them. You might be better off having multiple preamps located at the turntable and switch their flat outputs. With that many relays and that much wiring you'll likely give back a lot of SN in hum. Well I will end up with 2 phono stages (MM and ...

Re: Entropy
Whereas I am doing the logic control for my pre-amp relays with diode matrices. Although a patch board would be easier if I could get it past SWMBO! 24 relays for 2 phono inputs does make me thing I'm approaching it from the wrong direction

Re: A Low Noise Balanced Input Moving Coil Preamp Using the ZTX851
I'll be honest, will have a different sub profile for vinyl! I've survived all these years without the bottom 2 octaves.. I did chat with someone who had worked for a company that made auto shakers. The sort that can turn a brand new merc into a pile of bolts in about 48 hours. Back then (around 199...

Re: A Low Noise Balanced Input Moving Coil Preamp Using the ZTX851
My second most embarrassing backlog item is a subwoofer I've had since 1998. It was cheap as missing the controller. Yeah I can have 3 kids and get time to build one of those up... I have at least replaced the cone foam. Anyway miniDSP has balanced out so no extra analog required bar the power up wi...

Re: A Low Noise Balanced Input Moving Coil Preamp Using the ZTX851
I would nag Wayne to get some boards out were it not for my many simple projects that need completing before I can use it. However if this weekends moving around is successful I will be a step closer to wanting it.

Re: Entropy
We cook meals a week ahead, mainly because with little ones and wife working part time it takes a whole parcel of stress out weeknights. Freezer isn't big enough to plan further ahead than that! Sadly very little that can be slow cooked tho.

Re: Entropy
Why does a slow cooker need a microprocessor? Mine has a 3 position bakelite knob such as you would find on a guitar amp. off/low/high. When you are cooking something for 8 hours precision is not a requirement.
These days it only gets used for chickpeas mind.

Re: Entropy
well I am considering a couple of lights at the front of the house for reversing in the dark*. Mainly because I was too tight to pay someone to fit the reversing camera to my car so in its box it sits :). The sun shades on the rear screens make aiming tricky at this time of year. But I suspect some ...

Re: old telephone repair
And tonight the toy cash register got rewired. The backlog of kids stuff to fix is getting to the point where I might just be able to move forwards on one of my projects .
