Re: Entropy
I discovered the joy of picking figs straight off the tree when on holiday in portugal some years back. If I ever get a house with a wall facing the right direction I might try although they are touch and go where I am.

Re: Entropy
yesterday I needed the wheelbarrow in order to move some compost around so time to fix and goop the tyre. Joyously it had perished around the valve so some advanced patch origami +goop and lets see how long it will hold this time. Time to order a spare inner tube...

Re: Wide Band Web-Based Software Defined Radio in Enschede NL
It is majorly impressive how things that needed banks of DSP cards 30 years ago can now run on a laptop. Modern high speed ADCs are also very impressive. I remember back in the late 90s the old guard were saying that single down conversion zero IF radios weren't possible for cell phones then suddenl...

Re: Entropy
Makes sense. Round here there is a lot of flint so even with reinforced tyres and goop on the bicycle I get one total destruction puncture a year. This years mini arrow head put a 5mm gash in tyre and inner tube. The goop escaped. But I do cycle to work all year round. Happy discovery of the day was...

Found it. This is the list from Gerhard posted on DIYAudio. The CPH5902 is the one that looks most interesting even if you have to ignore the built in bipolar. Of course linear might finally pull their fingers out and sort out production of the LSK489...

Re: Entropy
yeah I did save some glorp from my last cycle tyre fixing round for this but didn't get around to it. Second job in the morning after coaxing the strimmer back to life after 14 months or so. I'll never learn...

Re: Entropy
Happiness is a tuned up lawnmower. It's back to its old self again for the first time in a couple of years. Interestingly the clogged vents I cleared thinking they were part of the cooling are vital to the grass collection as that's where the air gets in to help blow the clippings into the bag. as t...

Re: Entropy
Well job was easier than I feared. Decrud and re-route a cable that was snagging the mech and it is doing its little nod again when you engage the clutches. Everything cleaned and blades sharpened, but grass is too wet to mow after last night's rain...Typical.

Of course I made a very detailed note of a good replacement and saved it somewhere so safe I can't remember. If I find it I'll let you know and we can pop it somewhere where a list of good low noise FETs would be useful.

Re: "Composite Op Amp For High Performance," Siliconix, AN81-3, July 1983
Well I do have a few BF862s hanging around so if I don't use them all up on other things got to be worth a try. I should have got more when the EOL notification came out, but was too backlogged on projects to think it was a good idea. Luckily there are some other parts that are almost as good in the...
