Re: home improvement turns into science fair projects?

It is a caricature but there is often truth in comedy... When I first visited my fiend in Texas and saw the neighbour hanging out with his friends outside the garage (clearly they were too oily for his wife to allow in the house) I noted one of the friends turned up with a pickup with a sofa in the...

For some reason I'm reminded of "King of the Hill."
I thought King of the hill was a parody...Then I discovered it was all true!

Just for lolz I googled proper attachments for lawn tractors for doing this sort of work. Hmm 2k and up. Yeah I'd try and DIY a solution too! Or get goats.

Re: its always somethin

It does amaze me that modern cruise liners swap to Al half way up to save weight without things going horribly wrong. I suspect some significant R&D spend there.

But yes increasingly things are only specd to last the warranty period. Sob.

Re: Phono Transfer System Construction Information

Hmm Mouser have really changed their discount structure on some things. 10 of your preferred resistors costs less than 1! Spares are always handy. I'm sure it never used to be quite that extreme.

It does appear that the 2114 is EoL and production will end december this year.

Re: Entropy

Well I think JR jinxes us all. My toilet at home has started having flushing issues. Started with little one being a bit too enthusiastic with the push and the button stayed down. Dab of vaseline has fixed that but still doesn't always stop flushing. I think at the moment a pneumatic issue. Moral: a...

Re: home improvement turns into science fair projects?

don't you have a variac hanging around?

As they are usually around the 50-75W power consumption you must have a transformer somewhere in the shed that would drop down enough to get it quiet. IIRC you can go down about 50% on voltage before it goes non linear for flow.

Re: A Low Noise Balanced Input Moving Coil Preamp Using the ZTX851

Before I drive myself mad playing spot the difference, does the new schematic reflect the BOM or do I need to make a couple of tweaks?
