Re: Entropy

yeah I did save some glorp from my last cycle tyre fixing round for this but didn't get around to it. Second job in the morning after coaxing the strimmer back to life after 14 months or so. I'll never learn... The flat fix instructions said specifically not to use it for motorcycle tires, perhaps ...

Re: Entropy

I was past due to spray around my roof/eaves for termites and ants, so I mixed up a new batch of spray to fill my new spray bottle.

The spray bottle works better than I remember the last one doing when it was new...

the real test is how long it works that well.

Re: "Composite Op Amp For High Performance," Siliconix AN81-3, July 1983

IIRC Brad Wood (RIP) was working on a crazy low noise JFET MC preamp as one of his later projects.

He may have left some evidence around the internets, I don't see much on his old facebook page where I think he may have shared it once.

Re: Entropy

Happiness is a tuned up lawnmower. It's back to its old self again for the first time in a couple of years. Interestingly the clogged vents I cleared thinking they were part of the cooling are vital to the grass collection as that's where the air gets in to help blow the clippings into the bag. as ...

Re: "Composite Op Amp For High Performance," Siliconix, AN81-3, July 1983

IMO not really, now... maybe back then a little, but even back then the stock 553x and TL07x were better than needed for most line level audio paths. That was an inflection point for audio design when the off the shelf mass market ICs did not suck. 8-)

That sounds familiar, I might have seen that in a trade magazine, back then.

Re: Phono Transfer System Construction Information

I'm reconsidering packaging today. Following some detailed measurements on some of the cartridges that I have the generator side by Hans some interesting things have come up, not least that, to get the best generator linearity 47K is often not the best and in many cases very low capacitance is pref...

Re: Entropy

I live in England, It doesn't get warm enough for that! But yes whilst I have it apart a good dusting will be in order. I bought it second hand when I had 3/4 acre to mow 20 years ago. It's a little OTT for my current garden but being a semi-pro honda with proper cast deck it's pretty indestructabl...
