Re: crystal ball

this seems almost too obvious but #18 I predict the ugliest election in my lifetime... with an option of violence. (I hope I'm wrong about the violence). I don't think you're going to be wrong about their childish tantrums. They've promised us they will. We're already in a "warm" soon-to-be hot civ...

Re: Gentle persuasion over time

My Dad left me a metal wedge on the property. I've never had to use it but a stuck bar predicament looks like an ideal use for it. Yes a wedge and sledge manner might work... I took a few whacks at it with my axe, but it is too far up in the air to get a good swing at it. === Plan c "maybe" was to ...

A crowbar should come handy to free the chainsaw blade.
Tried it... that too failed

Re: Gentle persuasion over time

Some days you execute your plan, some days it fights back... My first cut yesterday afternoon was supposed to be easy... A long unsupported smaller trunk of the tree, cut from above should have cleanly dropped away. Inexplicably the smaller trunk split and locked the chainsaw bar in place... After a...

Re: Gentle persuasion over time

maple I suspect... I still have the main trunk leaning up against tree #2 that looks like it has a bad lean in the wrong direction. Tree #3 scheduled for removal doesn't have any branches below 60 or 70 feet making me think my problem is other trees adjacent to my property (I can't cut). I am review...

Re: That1580 mini mixer

I did a lot of work with mcu based metering with one 4 channel meter still in use (I think?) in a professional product (APB 4 bus console). I just checked their website and it looks like they stopped making the big consoles but found this picture. https://apb-dynasonics.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/1...

Re: Entropy

Got a new entropy event... The lump PS for my old scanner just gave up the ghost. 12V @ 1.25A now making 0V. The primary measures 800 kohm so effectively open circuit. It is unclear if this is worth fixing... I will do a cursory search through my pile of wall warts. JR [update- I found two 12V @ 1....

Re: Gentle persuasion over time

Here is my latest precision tree drop... First of three I have planned to take down to get sunlight for next summer's expanded garden. 1of3.jpg It is leaning up against tree #2.... I considered taking #2 down first but I didn't like the way it was leaning. I expect tree #1 leaning against #2 will he...

Re: Entropy

As if on queue my chronic beer bottle washer drama opened another chapter. This time the spring didn't break but it started spraying water out of the pivot lever holes, and valve got balky (wouldn't shut off). I was thinking of soaking it in vinegar to fix the balky valve before it started spraying ...
